While we don’t typically announce every HCW@Home release, today we’re excited to share a significant update: support for the FHIR Appointment resource via a new endpoint.
This enhancement enables better scheduling and coordination for remote consultation services. With FHIR-based appointment data now supported, HCW@Home allows smoother integration with external systems—including platforms like OpenMRS, OzoneHIS, and other FHIR-compliant health information systems.
We’re also pleased to highlight the availability of a Python SDK that supports FHIR resources, making integration even more accessible for developers. The SDK includes examples for working with appointments and other HCW@Home features. You can explore it here: Python SDK & Examples.
We are already in touch with the OzoneHIS team to explore integration opportunities and ensure alignment with their roadmap.
We encourage teams to review the updated API documentation and SDK to begin leveraging this new capability in their remote care workflows.
